OUR COMMUNITY
We are all part of this community – Orkney
.
Community is a wider expression of the smaller family groups where we live our lives in ways that suit our morals, values, principles and circumstances.
Whatever our religious, moral or personal preference, when we are formed together in community we have various groups administering and functioning on our behalf.
These groups are often appointed by the community to look after the well being of the residents, parishes and islands. Our main representative body is Orkney Islands Council .
LOVE ORKNEY
We have formed a group called Love Orkney and it is our aim to be available within our community to do just that.
As individuals we all have a body, soul and spirit as does our community. It has a body of people with a soul where the heart, feelings and thinking within that body are voiced.
Our community has a spirit and we in Love Orkney are particularly interested in prayer touching the spirit of individuals in every part of life in these islands.
Our desire is to be a practical and spiritual presence with an attitude to serve and be like Jesus. We hope to represent our Christian Community showing the power of the gospel experienced among believers as we walk towards the future with God’s love in our hearts.
Our mission is to go to every parish and island in Orkney, focusing on one area at a time. We would like to have an evening of praise in every hall to bring people together with the common goal of spreading the gospel.
Our plan is to partner with the Lighthouses of Prayer which are a means of structuring and securing places in our parishes where people of all denominations can come together and pray for their area, ultimately bringing life and hope to all.

Please take this as an invitation to get involved. You are welcome to come and join us as we walk, talk and pray. Please keep in touch and share with us. We will email anybody who wants to be kept up to date with news. We hope that the name of Love Orkney can be adopted for other activities and initiatives across the islands.
