Welcome to our website, have a look at what we are trying to do and get in touch if you want to partner with us for Orkney….We had a wonderful visit to Eday with a warm welcome cuppa on arrival at John and Marris Burr in their delightful little seaside cottage. It was an overcast day but the weather didn’t hinder the days procedings. We shared a beautiful buffet lunch prepared by the locals at Paplay House tea room at 12.00 we chatted and got to know some new people.
At 2.00 we moved on to the Church of Scotland service. Michael and Rosie Whittles shared some worship songs and testimony and their connection went back over 30years with Eday where they had been teaching at the school in the 70s.Amazing how the Lord led them and connected them with places and people that not only changed them but others too.
Alma shared her particular calling as a guidance teacher and spoke of the prayer and caring that goes into the isles children as they leave home and set out into secondary education in Kirkwall. It is very reassuring and special to know there are such people appointed to this necessary work.
Moira Scott spoke of the truth, power and eternal purpose of the gospel. We are all called to speak out the truth, share the gospel and GO into our community as Jesus commissioned us to.
We had a prayer walking time after the service and ended up back at Paplay for more tea and delicous food, we were mutually encouraged and specially blessed and a memorable day was had by all.
Our first call is to love the Lord and love the people. To take responsibility for the spiritual wellbeing of our community as a whole. To love the land and be a connection between heaven and earth declaring the Kingdom of God is at hand . Our strategy is to prayer walk the land. To connect wherever possible with people . Praying for the community and the homes . Asking the Lord to bless . Discerning any strongholds and safeguarding the values and things people hold dear. Embracing our culture with it’s diversity of gifting and expression bringing life, hope and healing.
